The Polar Bear Plunge is a charity event held each February at Ontario Beach Park to raise money for the Special Olympics. Hundreds of giddy Rochesterians run into the frigid waters of Lake Ontario, many wearing costumes. The event is usually held during the Lakeside Winter Celebration.
