I could get it to run (but not well) by partially engaging the choke. This tells ANYBODY that the fuel/air mixture is lean. Assuming it was an internal carb problem, I took it to them because they were close to where I worked at the time. I get the mower back a couple of days later-they tell me that it was a faulty gas filler cap-charged me $75 for it, and never even looked elsewhere (I know-I put nail polish on all the screws on the engine-none were broken open). Oh, they also ran my full gas tank dry, as well. Of course, the NEXT DAY, the mower crapped out on me, and I took it to a more reputable shop. They told me that my carb was very gunked-up, and they charged me $75 for a thorough cleaning. Of course, I complained to Precision, and they just refunded me $30 for labor, still charging me $45 for the cap I didn't need. In the end, they charged $30 to simply start my mower, and walk away, leaving it to run for probably 4 hours.<br> + <br> + Well, last week, I thought I needed a starter for a Tecumseh 2-stroke snow-blower. Brighton mower wanted $135, but I called around to see if I could get it cheaper. Precision is a Tecumseh authorized dealer, so, I just decided to see if they could sell it cheaper.
