History

Rubino's was started by Peter Rubino, a native of Sicily. He opened the first location in 1958 on Portland Avenue. In 1977, it moved to East Ridge Road in Irondequoit.

2009-04-07 19:16:02   I used to go to the Webster location at least once or twice a week when I worked at Xerox and the tuna sub was delicious. It was so good that the memory of it still haunts me. However, I can't justify a trip out to Webster for Rubino's so I never go anymore. And judging by the guy that worked there at lunch, it was only a matter of time before he started pushing the weightlifter fuel/powders. Sounds like he finally made the leap. —BatGuano

2012-04-15 20:31:03   Fantastic Italian Deli. Sit and have a cookie and esspresso. Great deals on red wine vinegar, capers, and they carry sclafani tomoatoes. Funny Italian t-shirt and aprons. Ravioli makers galore. And best kept secret - proscuitto ends for cooking with. —xanthm
