2013-02-09 19:29:06 Signatures is the newly reopened Humphrey House. Decor is simple and very tasteful. Reservations seem to be strongly recommended, as we arrived at 5:20 and it seemed to be a bit of a problem that we didn't have them (though there were only 2 tables full). The menu had a number of interesting dishes, mostly appetizers/tapas, burgers, comfort food, and seafood. My husband's burger was huge, delicious, and cooked perfectly. My french onion soup was divine. Everything else was "eh" (eggplant parmesan, pear salad). We had our two children with us and the kids Mac and Cheese offered to them was not the delicious-sounding mac n cheese that was on their menu— it was literally microwaved Easy Mac. At $6 a pop! For the 4 of us to eat (and two glasses of wine) it cost $82, which is a bit pricey to me. That said, the staff was courteous and helpful, and they offered our kids coloring books and crayons which we really appreciated. The most negative part of the experience was the diner who, upon seeing children seated, promptly asked for his table to be moved as far from them as possible! Our kids were being quiet and well-behaved. That is nothing negative against the restaurant, but does show that diners at this establishment may expect a bit more formal, kid-free environment. —JLO27
