Special Touch Bakery is a non-profit pie bakery. They bake over 10 varieties of pies. Pies are also sold at many restaurants and diners in the area.
They employ an integrated workforce (people with and without intellectual and developmental disabilities), working side by side, to create the pies. In addition the organization recruits people at risk for poverty. Special Touch Bakery strives to remove barriers to achieve employment for all, creating broad-based opportunities for success, and emergence from poverty while celebrating everyone's abilities.
The bakery is affiliated with School of the Holy Childhood, a non-denominational, non-profit agency for children and adults with developmental disabilities.
On October 24, 2017, the bakery expanded from Holy Childhood's kitchen to a new 20,000 sq. foot facility to bake and distribute their pies.
