Swain Resort is a ski and snowboard resort located in Swain, with a vertical drop of 650 feet. Three new trails were added for the 2008-2009 season: Maverick, The Glade, and Magic Mountain.
In the summer, Swain offers lift-serviced mountain biking.
Closing Averted
The owners/operators up to the 2008/2009 season (Swain Recreation Center, LLC) decided to close the resort by August 15, 2009 unless a buyer was found.
On August 12, 2009, the operators of Ski Denton in Coudersport, PA agreed to lease and operate the property for the 2009/2010 season with the intention of completing a purchase of the property and turning it into a 4-season resort, similar to their successful Coudersport operation.1 Ski Denton now lists Swain Resort as a "Sister Resort".
Swain Recreation Center, LLC is owned by David Flaum of Flaum Management and E. Philip Saunders.
