Very close to Thali's in selection but with more to choose from. --["LindaMarie"]
------
2006-03-08 17:17:45 nbsp I'm addicted to this place, I can't get through the week without eating lunch there at least once. --["StephanMokey"]
------
2006-08-31 12:21:32 nbsp By far my favorite Indian food in Rochester. The buffet has the standard fare expect, plus a few surprises. You can download coupons on their website and they have a student discount. --["EllenKelsey"]
------
2006-09-28 20:02:20 nbsp I love Tandoor. It is as authentic as Indian food gets outside of India! Try the Manchurian Chilli Chicken (only if you can handle spice) or Kadai Chicken for something different. --["OneLove"]
------
2006-11-14 19:30:32 nbsp Fantastic! This is my favorite Indian buffet in Rochester. Great service, and tasty food. --["CedrickStanton"]
------
2006-11-16 10:26:53 nbsp I think this is my favorite Indian food in Rochester. The menu is very similar to Thali but the buffet has more room to maneuver. The buffet is a great place to hit if you are on a low-carb diet. --["AdamGrossman"]
------
2007-05-26 12:23:05 nbsp This is my favorite Indian place in Rochester, too, with Thali as a close second. The big difference for me, aside from the more open space (think halfway between a diner and King and I (a repurposed warehouse, I think), with high ceilings), is the presence of south Indian dosas. They're cheap (closer to $5 than $10), and can be thought of as giant wrap sandwhiches (though the bread is more like a crispy sourdough crepe). They come with a cocunut chutney, and a lentil-potato soup. Something to try if you're jonesing for Indian, but want something lighter / dryer on the sauce. Otherwise, it's the best local Indian restaurant (though Thali does about as well on the dishes they both serve). --["RossMessing"]
------
2007-06-05 19:22:52 nbsp The Tandoor Chicken was the best I've ever had - same with the Nan. --["GerKev"]
------
2007-12-06 21:14:31 nbsp This place is great... very authentic, comparable to what they actually eat in India (my sister-in-law is Indian, and I went there for the wedding last year) The staff is friendly, and they'll make the food REALLY spicy if you want it that way. Most places won't do that. The prices are kinda high, but comparable to other sit-down places. All things considered, I would say that it's still a good deal though. Go on "ala-carte" nights (where they function just like a normal restaurant, not a buffet), instead buffet ones though, if you really want to get good quality food. The buffet is OK, but ala-carte is way better because then it's made to order. Of course, the service is slower then, but well worth the wait. --["EricArdis"]
------
2007-12-19 14:34:19 nbsp I hated everything about my experience at this place. First off, the host kept trying to push me to buy the buffet, when I just wanted to order from the menu. I was seated and it took 15 minutes for someone to come by and take my order. The service was REALLY slow.

The food was downright awful. Although my experiences at ["Taste of India"] were awkward, at least the food was good! I had vegetable samosas, chicken mahkani, and naan here and they were bad. The samosas weren't cooked all the way through and the filling inside tasted gross. The chicken mahkani tasted like it was Campbell's Tomato Soup mixed with Chef Boyardi, and the naan was rubbery and greasy.

I was really excited to try this place after reading all the good reviews, but wow, was it a letdown! I strongly recommend you don't eat here. The atmosphere is uncomfortable (the bathroom was disgusting!), the service is bad, food is bad. --["RochesterCalifornia"]
------
2007-12-28 16:57:33 nbsp I have to retract my blazing recommendation for this place. I think they either changed management or changed chefs. Either way, the food sucks now - everything is underspiced (even if you ask it to be hot) and the service has gone down the drain. However, ["Thali of India"] remains decent. --["OneLove"]
