2012-01-13 15:22:31 Tried it out, won't be back. They messed up our reservations and had to seat us in the bar. Bowl of spaghetti the size of a scoop of ice cream for $16 (without any entree and doesn't even include a meat)??? 2 of the meals came out cold and tried charging us for drinks that we never received. When we told the owner about our experience, he just got defensive. Not a pleasant evening and won't bother trying it again. —JohnVon

Service was slow and inattentive to our needs, omelet order was not correct (only one in our party received the correct omelet), limited food selection compared to other buffets we have gone to . It was not worth the money we paid. We had a 2/12 year old with is who was charged 2/3 of adult price. We will not go again and will not recommend it to anyone. —Lindachristiansen
2012-01-30 13:14:01 We love it there! We went when it first opened and while the food was good, they had some kinks to work out. Well...they have worked them out! The food is outstanding. I especially recommend the spaghetti carbonara and the Grilled Caesar Salad is to die for! The other night our friend had the lamb chops and he said it was the best he ever had. Maya at the front door is a warm and friendly hostess! Tony is appreciative and when we were finished eating the other night, he actually cleared the plates himself! I highly recommend it and tomorrow a group of my friends and I are going there for lunch for the first time. So glad that we have a place like this in Mendon! —Debbiec03
2012-01-30 15:05:15 Had dinner there last week and had a great time. Ate right at the bar and enjoyed it thoroughly. John behind the bar was attentive and engaging - chatting and serving our dinner. The grilled romaine salad was unusual and unbelievably good as was the tilapia appetizer my friend had. For dinner we both had the sirloin steak special, also very good and grilled exactly the way I wanted it. Then creme brulee for desert. (!) We were stuffed and happy. Will definitely recommend it and return soon. —michelleb

2012-02-02 19:22:19 My husband and I have enjoyed three wonderful dinners at Porto Bello, and we are eagerly looking forward to our next visit. The service is warm and attentive without being pushy. Our entrees were outstanding, but the appetizers are unique and to die for! We would recommend this restaurant to all for a great dining experience. —sandras
2012-05-17 13:40:44 What a fabulous Mother’s Day Brunch at Porto Bello in Mendon New York. It was a beautiful day with my family. We sat outside on their lovely patio surrounded by perfectly manicured trees and bushes lightly blowing in the spring breeze. The staff is incredible, from their amazing pastry chef Jeff, head bartender John, professional and personable wait staff, to their gracious owner Tony. The food was fantastic, perfect mix of seafood with delicious meats and salads, pasta dishes, fresh fruit and pastries. You are greeted at the door by their amazing bartender John who is ready to assist in anyway and holding mimosa’s in hand. Having John greet you in the bar is like being welcomed into someones home, he is professional, personable, fun, warm and engaging! One of the nicest brunches I’ve had in long time! I highly recommend Porto Bello in Mendon New York, it’s above and beyond dining experience! —traceygray
