- Well, I'll give this a try, though i hate explaining myself. - I have a love/hate relationship with Rochester, though I doubt that I will ever leave here for good. - I live in the Monroe Ave area with my boyfriend, our big crazy baby of a dog and our bearded dragon. - I'm a former waitress and have waitressed for MANY places within Rochester, both chains and privately owned places. I have strong feelings about how rough it can be in the food industry, so many of my comments may pertain to how owners treat their workers or customers who are just downright rude. It's not meant to be insulting if I say something to you....rather, you should open your mind to what someone who has 7 years of waitressing under their belt has to say. - I love body mods and have many tattoos and piercings. I've had work done by a lot of shops in Rochester...most I am proud of and a few I wish I had never walked into. - I'm a big horror movie fan...the cheesier, the better. The Evil Dead movies are up there on my favorites ( I WILL make Bruce Campbell my husband someday!). I lived many years of my life not knowing the greatness of horror movies so I am slowly catching up on the movies I should have seen years ago. - I also love to read pretty much anything I can get my hands on, attemp to knit (badly), play board games with friends and watch cartoons. I must say that US way usually provides a better service overall (this is, of course, a very coarse generalization). + Anyway, I don't fully agree with strictly tipping a fixed percentage of the check. While I agree that a percentage of the check is normally appropriate (so waiters can have an estimate of their income) there are situations where I don't think is acceptable. For instance, if I ordered an expensive bottle of wine, why would the waiter automatically receive more money?
