Still I had the chance to have cupcakes from both Vanilla Swirl and Georgetown cupcakes. There is no comparison on the frosting. The frosting at VS was not even the same as Georgetown cupcakes. The vanilla frosting was pure powdered sugar and very sweet at Georgetown, while the Vanilla Swirl vanilla butter cream has butter in it. As for getting chunks of butter in my frosting, so stuff happens every once in a while. I would rather get butter chunks than shortening chunks. The cakes and cupcakes are delicious. I have yet to detect an artificial taste in chocolate, white, almond, red velvet or my favorite caramel. Instead of pining over cupcakes that you just can't get in this area, you can either make them yourself or go to Vanilla Swirl. I can highly recommend them. --["Users/luv2sew"]

I had a birthday cake from here a few years ago and wasn't pleased with the "chunks" in the frosting (which I'm guessing was butter not mixed in thoroughly). After that experience I was skeptical about trying a cupcake at a party more recently (this year). Again, the experience was disappointing. The vanilla cake tasted like a boxed mix and was very dry while the frosting (though much smoother) had a sugary sweet and very artificial taste. I also find the prices unreasonable for the quality of the products. For anyone in Rochester, I'd recommend the Little Bakery or Goodness Cakes Bakery. In my opinion, they're products come closest in quality to some of my favorite (and nationally ranked) bakeries including Georgetown Cupcake (D.C.) and Buttercup Bakeshop (NYC). --["Users/politigal89"]
