- I'd tried to write a review of Virtu, but everything is locked. I had an awful dining experience at Virtu last week. I think it is not in the spirit of a Wiki to lock it just because comments are negative. Rather than a conspiracy against Virtu, it seems like the creator of this page is in with the owner of Virtu. I went with my wife on a Sunday night. We had the following: house salad, calamari, samosos, seared "ahi" tuna, and the duck. It was without a doubt the worst meal I have had since I moved to Rochester 4 years ago. - - house salad - wilted greens, boring vinaigrette, only 1 slice of sundried tomato - calamari - really seemed like salt and lemon with calamari on the side. I have never tasted food so salty and lemony. - chicken samosos - these were okay, not outstanding, but not bad - seared "ahi" tuna - the biggest issue here was that it was not ahi tuna. It was yellowfin or albacore. I complained to the waitress and she did nothing to address my complaint. It was called ahi tuna on the menu, but they did not serve ahi. This is atrocious to me. - duck - undercooked and not that tasty. Also included a stuffing on the side that seemed like it was leftover from thanksgiving and tasted like ham. - - Overall it was a horrendous dining experience. I would like to comment on that in a Wiki, but somebody has taken this Wiki into their own hands. 12/15/08-["Users/Tcrafts"] - - Naw, we just meant to lock it for a few days to let a dispute quiet down, and then forgot about it. My first statement is I'd like to say again that BadFish's comment regarding Athena and myself being the same person is absolutely untrue. Clearly the evidence of our shared IP addresses seems to imply that it's likely, however things are not always as they appear, and the administrators of this site can not and do not have the ability to see into our living rooms and offices to see who is actually sitting in the computer chair. This inability to see, and therefore prove, causes a problem because the truth is that life, relationships, and reality is much more complex than what an IP address can suggest. + My reality is that I'm fortunate enough to have two working computers, and my very close friend whose screen name is Athena does not, and on numerous occasions asks to use mine. Sometimes this is in my house, but more often at my business. She had something she wanted to say about her experience at Virtu, and upon discovering that her comment was deleted, accidentally deleted the entire Virtu page. She had no purposeful reason to do that, and has absolutely no connection to Virtu that would prompt it, it was pure accident, and she in fact thanked BadFish later for restoring the page. This seems to have triggered an investigation into her identity, and because her comments were made from my business computer, a large assumption and an inaccurate statement was made regarding her connection to myself and my business. I will state again that it was not my statement, my thought, or my wish that her comment be made. + I have known the owner of Virtu for many years, and he has been a friend and mentor to me in this industry. As someone who also has been on the receiving end of some nasty comments made on this site, I have to stress again that I would NEVER have participated in any negative statement made about this restaurant, its owner, its food, its service, or its chef.
