newDigs was RocWiki's Business Spotlight of the Month for July 2011!

NewDigs ¹ is an apartment listing website which aims to create a search environment for all of the Rochester area's rental inventory. NewDigs provides landlords with a place to keep their property portfolios for free. Landlords can use the system to store information about their properties, and then list and unlist those properties without deleting the information. Properties of under 25 units list for free. A 90 day free listing for larger properties of 25+ units are available, however the company charges monthly fees beyond the 90 days.

NewDigs features include the map-based search environment, where apartment listings are displayed on a Google map, as well as portfolio, contact, and listing management tools for landlords. NewDigs was founded in 2007 by Ben Munson and Daniel Mooney, two RIT alumni, both Rochester landlords of small residential properties. NewDigs launched its beta version of the website in Fall 2009. The company became part of the RIT small business incubator Venture Creations in September 2008.

As part of a marketing campaign launched in November 2009, newDigs distributed "For Rent" lawn signs to several area hardware stores, including Mayer Paint and Hardware, Wilson Hardware, Monroe True Value Hardware, Hunt's True Value Hardware, and Debbie Supply. They are also available at the South Wedge Planning Committee's office on Hamilton St and Mt. Hope Avenue, and at The Rochester Housing Council.
