Parks

Parks abound in the Rochester area and offer year round recreation. Whether you're interested in a casual stroll, hiking, running, picnics, cross country skiing, fishing, sports, photography, site seeing, reading a book under a tree, or just hanging out with friends—there is something here for everyone.

Parks are normally operated by the City of Rochester, a Town or Village, Monroe County,

State of New York, or the

National Park Service.

Many of the parks have shelters and facilities available for rental or reservation. Check with the relevant city, town, village, or county website for more information.

The Town of Brighton is known for its extensive and varied collection of public parks. This includes options for the active pursuit of athletic prowess as well as enjoying the quiet contemplation of nature. Several of the parks have lodges or pavilions that can be rented by the public for private events.

Brighton Town Park - ballfields, fishing pond, lodge, and nature trails that connect with the canal path
Buckland Park - ballfields, pavilions, historic home, and nature trails
Corbett's Glen Nature Park - meadow, wetland, woodlands, and waterfalls on Allen's Creek
