2008-08-06 13:09:43   Hi, Michele, welcome to RocWiki, and thanks for expanding our alternative medicine sections. I edited a few of the pages you created, and wanted to explain why.

One of our community values is some degree of neutrality. We welcome businesses editing their own pages, but our policy is to try to include just facts about the business. That said, more facts are always welcome in your entries. For example, if the wellness center has special equipment, or if you have public events on a regular basis, adding those facts to your page would enhance its value to users of RocWiki.

Also, I tried to point each specialty to one page that listed all of the practitioners, rather than having multiple pages of practitioners for each specialty. That makes it easier for others to maintain those pages as new practitioners come and go.

Finally, I cut down some of the descriptions of each specialty and added some links to Wikipedia entries that have far more information. RocWiki is a guide to Rochester, and it's hard for us to keep up with descriptions of specialty areas like alternative medicine, which are constantly changing. We find it's better to let Wikipedia handle broad areas of human knowledge. We stick to Rochester.
