Grana's at the Renaissance was an Italian restaurant at the Renaissance Apartments complex. Site now occupied by the Flour City Grill.
... The last time I ate here (June 2006) there was a sign at the hostess stand saying the restaurant was closing, and something about the owners maybe reopening sometime in the future at a time/location still TBD.

Ross says: I think this is the best Italian Restaurant in Rochester. Family-run place with a lot of interesting stuff. The pastas are all pretty solid. I'm a fan of their marinari sauce, and if I'm particularly hungry, I get the Grana Casterole, which is penne baked with mozarella, peppers, mushrooms, sausage and meatballs. Great, if you're in the mood for something heavy. There's a range of chicken and veal dishes (my favorite is the Saltimbocca). They do veal, chicken, and eggplant parmigian very well. Fresh homemade deserts every night - try the canolli and / or the pies, they're the best of each in the area.
Prices are going to be about $5 per person more than the Olive Garden. Once your spending that much, you might as well spend a little extra to not be sick the next day, and to have a really nice experience.
