The Rochester Junior Rhinos is a prestigious youth soccer program based in Rochester, NY. The soccer club derives its name from the local professional A-League team, the Rochester Raging Rhinos. Age groups range from Boys U-7 to U-19 and Girls U-7 to U-18. The official practice facility of the Junior Rhinos is Total Sports Experience on Elmgrove Road.
The Rochester Jr. Rhinos soccer club has encountered many championships and victories at well-regarded national tournaments. Teams from the club participate in the most anticipated tournament of the year: Snickers Nationals championships. The club has won 43 New York State West State Cup championships. The club has sent teams to the regional finals 8 times. One team that deserves special recognition is the Boys U-15 team who won the Snickers National Championship in 2001.
The Rochester Raging Rhinos have very close ties with the Jr. Rhinos and Raging Rhinos head coach Laurie Calloway emphasizes on player growth within the club. A tradition is that the older boys teams have some of their players chosen to practice with the professional team at PAETEC Park the new Rhinos stadium opened on June 3rd, 2006.
