2007-12-17 10:33:27   West Lake may be best known for the fresh noodles that they make on site. They are a real treat. You have to ask for them 'cuz they don't sit out on shelves. They also have live tanks of fish. —KevinKondo

2009-10-01 15:25:29   This has been my family's favorite Chinese grocery store since I was a kid. Go on Thursdays to get the freshest Chinese pastries, vegetables and seafood. They even have a mouth-watering selection of Cantonese specialty dishes—including the most authentic and delicious BBQ pork you can get—served HOT! In addition to the fresh noodles that they make, they also sell a local brand of oyster sauce that is top quality. I prefer to buy the oyster sauce here because it does not contain MSG. —Cherkwai

2010-10-05 10:47:55   West Lake grows their own bean sprouts. They are sold in plastic bags in the refrigerated section in the rear of the store. They are usually the freshest and best bean sprouts that I'm able to find in town. Fresh vegetables are often good, especially on Thursdays after their delivery. I don't buy instant ramen often but when I do, I like the Myojo brand "Chukazanmai" which West Lake sells for a much lower price than other Asian markets and Wegman's. —KairakuShugisha
