-secretary of the Haute-Vienne Committee for Photography (since 1981)
-fine-art photographer (numerous solo and group exhibitions)
-post-graduate thesis on British photographer Bill Brandt
-team handball player (French National League 2 and 3 (ASPTT Limoges, Stade Clermontois), British National League 1 (Liverpool HBC)), coach (Women's National League 2 (ASPTT Limoges), Men's National League 3 (ASPTT Limoges)), referee.
Bruno Chalifour has been a Rochester resident since 1994 when he came from France to research the history of American landscape photography (on-going Ph D thesis).
In 1994-1995 he worked for Lauren Studios as a studio/wedding photographer and taught workshops at Community Darkroom while participating in the local art scene (Camera Rochester, Artists' Breakfast Group).
1996-present: free-lance photographer, photo critic and historian, curator, and instructor.
