The Genesee Valley Golf Course is a public golf center located on the SouthWest side of Rochester in Genesee Valley Park. It is the closest publically accessible course to Downtown Rochester. It is comprised of 2 full 18-hole courses: the North (or "Old") course and the South (or "New") course. The North Course is somewhat longer and moderately challenging, although there us no sand and little water. It was begun in 1899 and is said to be only the 4th course maintained at public expense in the country. The South Course is short and simpler, used primarily by high-handicappers. Although known by old-timers as the "New" course it was actually created in 1923, which would make it old by many US golf standards.

The South Course is also home to Rochester’s only full 18 hole AFGL Certified Footgolf course.

Genesee Valley has a small driving range and 3 practice greens. There is a fully-stocked Pro Shop, lessons are available, and the course supports junior golf clinics, camps, and a league as part of its First Tee program.

The Snack Bar offers a selection of fast foods as well as a variety of different drinks.

Most times play is available on a first-come basis, but Tee Times are available for weekend mornings. Greens fees are extremely inexpensive. Discount programs are available for both Seniors and Juniors. An annual pass is available for unlimited golf at Genesee Valley and the other County Courses.
