Sales of distressed or discount real estate properties are sometimes arranged on a non-commission basis by independent wholesalers. A wholesaler may buy and re-sell the property to another investor, or place a property under contract and assign the contract to an investor. Wholesaling normally is done with an eye to quick closings on properties that may need repairs.
