The Rochester Chip Fest is a music festival held at Rochester Institute of Technology focusing on original music created using the sound chips of retro computers and video game consoles.

The event is generally held at the Student Alumni Union (Bldg. 4) - Davis Room ([WWW]http://goo.gl/maps/KKDnI)

Rochester Chip also holds a monthly series of events dedicated to promoting artists and groups who use the sound chips of retro computers and video game consoles to create new original music. This exciting and often experimental form of electronic music repurposes devices such as Nintendo Gameboys and Atari 2600s as synthesizers and sequencers to create exciting new compositions in a wide array of genres.

The first Rochester Chip show was held November 11th, 2010 and since then there have been more than 25 monthly events with over 80 different performers.

Updated November 2016: Archived to Outdated Pages. Uncertain if this festival still exists.
