The Ballet Performance Group, also known as "BPG", is a student run dance group at the University of Rochester. The group was founded in 1996 and is dedicated to studying classical ballet. Over the past few years, BPG has grown from a group of 12 girls to 70! BPG strives to incorporate ballet training into performances in all genres of dance including; lyrical, hip hop, jazz, tap, and modern dance. The prominent mission statements of the group revolve around keeping ballet alive on the U of R campus and providing students with an opportunity to learn and perform all types of dance.

The Ballet Performance Group entertains the University and Rochester community through semi-annual performances. Each year the group puts together two shows composed of classical ballet and student choreographed pieces. In addition, BPG often performs as a guest group in other University venues. So far in 2007 the group has performed at the student activities fair, Admission's Open Houses, Meliora Weekend's Rochester Revue, Danced Cubed, and the D'motions show.
