Store #364 | Store #22 |
Borders was a chain bookstore that had two locations in the Rochester area. Each had a cafe, a music department with listening stations, and a children's section offering weekly storytime (check the website for schedules). Both offered T-Mobile paid WiFi access, though you might have wanted to check WiFi Hot Spots for nearby free alternatives.
The Marketplace Mall location was in Henrietta across from the Target/Lowes complex on Hylan Drive, just north of the Hylan Drive exit on 390. This location offered relatively frequent live musical performances which were advertised in advance in the store and on the store website. This location is now La-Z-Boy.
The Victor location was on the North side of Route 96, across from Eastview Mall. Unlike the Henrietta location, this store didn't seem to offer live music, but it did offer storytime and the occasional author visit.
Physically, the Borders locations offered fewer comfy chairs than the other large chain in the Rochester area, Barnes & Noble, though they were similar in most other respects.

2007-07-19 22:37:23 The Victor location does offer live music from time to time, but since it's a lower volume store than the Henrietta location, it doesn't have as many events. I currently work at the Victor store part time and I think we're pretty awesome :) —SaraChristine
