2006-05-29 09:55:28 DO NOT go to this place if you like pho - it's pretty poor. Go to 99 Pho on Main for a real pho experience. —KennyLotito
2006-05-29 12:51:20 Do go for the Bun. A friend who grew up in Saigon says it's the real deal. I like the Thai-style eggplant with garlic myself. —EricLarsson
2006-07-14 23:17:15 Dac Hoa got me through many cold and late undergrad college nights - pho is good but I agree that the bun is an exceptional deal. I ate there so much that the ladies nearly adopted me and would bring me little bowls of soup or oranges and always got so happy when I came in. I nominate them as important Rochester fixtures (see "Javas Dude" and "Jo An Morreale") —RochesterGuy
2007-02-05 09:25:31 cheap. hole in the wall and better than most of the asian places around. Stay away from the typical "americanized" chinese menu. You will usually be the only one eating there. —NjTourist
2007-03-20 15:56:45 When I lived in rochester, this is the place I had dinner most. I go there at least 3 times a week. It has the best vietnamese /chinese barbecue food in town and the owners always welcomed me with great smile. My favorite dishes: 1) pork chop + shredded pork + steam eggs rice dish. 2) bbq por + roast duck rice dish to go. Please tip them well, I missed the old vietnamese ladies there. SO MANY nites that i went there late at nite, freezing rochester weather, hungry, and they were closing, they still let me in and serve me. —LegatoBoy
2007-03-30 20:42:07 Friendly, cheap, and tasty. Pretty slow service, but in a relaxing more than irritating way. I had the bbq pork and fried shrimp bun, and it was very good. Despite the not-so-inviting exterior, the inside is bright and clean, and there were plenty of other customers there. —RachelBlumenthal
2007-04-08 21:45:10 The BBQed stuff is the only good thing at this place.. don't try anything on their menu. The Pho tastes like instant noodles, you'd be better off if you get those noodles at the grocery store for 30cents. The first time I ate there, I was food poisoned by almost rotten food... But that didn't teach me a lesson. The second time I went there, the dried noodles tasted TOO, TOO sour.. Maybe they added that lime juice or vinegar to get rid of that spoiling taste. So again, I would recommend you to just try the BBQed stuff they got on display only. —HuongTran
2007-06-05 19:21:38 This is one of our favorite places to eat. Go there with patience, everything is cooked by Ma and her family, and takes extra time and love-but it's worth the wait. Generous portions at such a cheap price. The Hunan Shrimp & Scallops or the Bun will not disappoint! —GerKev
2007-08-03 09:42:02 They have the BEST bbq duck! I get cravings for it. Slow, yes, but kind and friendly service. Off street parking helps too. It's become a new favorite haunt. —JuneSylvesterWales
2007-08-31 16:46:35 Are they closed?? I went by the other day to find it dark and practically shuttered. Say it ain't so! —BrendonTroy
