In 1908, Frank Lloyd Wright built a prairie-style house at 16 East Boulevard, in Rochester, NY, for Edward E. Boynton. His behavior during the construction of this house was markedly eccentric. He shunned companionship and lived on the lot, sheltering himself from the elements only with the help of a simple lean-to, and subsisted mainly on a diet of uncooked carrots.
The house is located between East and Park Avenues. It is part of the East Avenue Historic District.
