I Scream was making itself known as a neighborhood ice cream shop. Located on Mount Hope Avenue. There are several specialties such as hand-crafted hot fudge ... ask about more. The decor inside has a handful of "old-timey" gems, including an old coke bottle vending machine and other soda ads from decades past.
Be sure to check it out on "Kids Pay their Age" Mondays (12 and under). One day a year in the summer time prices drop to that of a 1950's soda shop - get a cone for just a quarter! Shakes for 89 cents! Quality and atmosphere are prided over quantity.

2006-06-15 13:42:32 Excellent for that homemade hot fudge, also homemade strawberry sauce and select ice cream flavors. And a great neighborhood feel —AprilleRoelle
2007-03-31 19:29:38 We go here all the time after Mass at Saint Anne's. It is the best, and the proprietor is a real ice cream enthusiast. —OutSider
2007-06-12 20:39:08 Justin is a great guy who makes incredible fudge. You should go and try it. —EjVanlanen
2007-08-17 12:48:32 This place is like something out of a 50's movie. The decor is totally old school ice cream parlor, the prices are good (especially when he does that "old days" pricing), sundaes are so good, and the owner is really fun to chat with while he makes up your order. We discovered I Scream by accident and now I refuse to go to Abbott's or Friendly's. —KatrinaFromRochester
2007-08-18 11:05:20 He has an insane selection of milkshakes. Where else can you get a strawberry cheesecake milkshake? —CraigCeremuga
2007-08-18 13:32:21 Insanely good ice cream to be found here. The prices are reasonable for the quality of the ice cream. The only thing is, you can only pay for it with cash. No credit cards allowed. —EugeniaHuang
2007-09-13 17:40:35 I Scream does excellent homemade and fresh ice cream. As mentioned, the owner is extremely friendly and helpful (and knows his product, since he makes most of it himself). One drawback is the limited selection available, since it's freshly made. You get quality, but sacrifice variety. —JonPetruccelli
2008-04-18 11:05:15 Wow. Just took a bike ride with some friends and we ended at I Scream. I had the pure Madagascar Vanilla custard with dark chocolate mint below it. It took us 10 minutes just to decide what to get - it all sounds so amazing! 30 milkshake flavors...better get yourself a frequent buyers card. —WillChesebro
2008-09-03 01:55:43 It is a shame...Justin is a great guy too. It seems like it was always more of a hobby than a full time job for him though...hence the inadequate upkeep. —WillChesebro
2008-12-14 15:21:02 So if I Scream had a mouse problem are we to assume that none of the other restaurants / stores in that plaza have the same problem? I won't take any chances so Mt. Hope Plaza is off limits, at least for me. —BatGuano
