John Clinton BradleyJohn Clinton Bradley moved to Rochester in October 2004 when his spouse, the Rev. Michael W. Hopkins, was called to be rector of St Luke & St Simon Cyrene Episcopal Church.

John is a native Floridian. He was born in 1960 to John Clinton Bradley Sr (born 1930). and Sylvia Cooke Bradley (born 1936). John has two younger sisters—Edith Lucille Bradley (born 1961) and Cynthia Ann Bradley (born 1964). John's father worked at Cape Kennedy during the Mercury, Gemini, and Apollo missions. When the space program geared down, John's father was laid off. He found new employment with a telephone company in Tallahassee, Florida. The family relocated to rural Crawfordville, just south of Tallahasseee.
John and Michael live in a Victorian farmhouse built during the 1870s at the corner of what is now Park Avenue and Vassar Street when that part of the city was apple orchards. The house was later moved to Vassar Street where it stands today.
John graduated from Wakulla High School in 1978. He earned two associates degrees from Tallahassee Community College. John worked for a year as a licensed EMT/paramedic, then resumed his studies at Florida State University. He graduated with a B.S. degree in health education in 1983. John worked with the Florida Department of Health for eight years—serving a variety of health education programs. During that period, he began part-time, post-graduate studies at Florida State University, and was awarded an M.S. in instructional design in 1992.
John moved to Washington, DC, in 1992 to work as a contractor for the National Heart Attack Alert Program. Soon after his move to Washington, he met Michael W. Hopkins (born 1961) and the two became domestic partners. In 2000, John left the National Heart Attack Alert Program and began working as a senior instructional designer for ESI International. While at ESI, John earned a master's certificate in project management.
John is an active member of the Episcopal Church. He is also an avid science fiction fan.

2008-01-11 16:21:37 John and Travis, I used to be two blocks away from you, also on Milburn St and Berkeley. Van and I moved 3 years ago to Highland Avenue, near Winton... right on the city line! BTW, I'm also a native of Florida, Chipley, deep in the western panhandle of the state, 100 miles west of Tallahassee. —RalphCarter
2011-03-24 10:52:24 John,
I was wondering where you found the info on the Wings of Progress and the architect Ralph Walker's story of seashell inspiration. I've done extensive research on the building in primary sources (there's not that much to be found) and this is the first I have heard of the seashells. I tried the Greater Rochester Visitors Bureau and the link takes one to a dead site. Thanks very much.
Yours sincerely Jeff Freeland
