Mac-Ave is also called the Jessi Group and is an independently owned Mac store. They are a Certified Apple Specialist and can sell you anything Mac and Mac related (Will order anything they don't have), and they also have a service department that will handle Mac's (or any other PC), printers, digital cameras, and other peripherals. If you don't want to upgrade your Mac yourself (it really is easy, but some don't want to) they will do it for a reasonable price, if you buy the peripheral from them, it will be cheaper.

The owner and her employees are very knowledgeable, and if you came to the store with an idea of what you want to do with the computer, they will be able to recommend an affordable system that will do the job. This sales and service not only rare these days, will save money in the longer run and let your computer system last longer than it might do otherwise. They aren't always trying to sell you the most expensive option unless your needs require it. If they have something they don't feel the price is competitive with on-line or elsewhere, they tell you, which is a refreshing change and an example of their service mindedness.

Their Victor Store has a "living room" showing how you can use your Mac to make a Home theater (very cool). They will generally meet any advertised price, and the owner many times will be on the floor to help. The slight difference in prices due to sales tax rates between Rochester and Victor usually makes the short trip to Victor worth it if you are making a larger purchase.

The author (who has no affiliation other than a satisfied customer) feels that this company is much better and more pleasant than the Apple Company Store in the Mall due to the level of knowledge and personal service offered. You won't pay a dime more either. Given that most graphic designers locally patronize this store, really tells you something.

The author has been to the Lumiere Photo Mac corner which appears to be closed.
The author has seen a Mac-Ave kiosk in Eastview Mall that now appears to be closed.

The website informs of a store opening in Henrietta, NY and Hormel, NY

2006-06-27 10:32:13   Last time I walked by, it didn't look like they were there anymore. It looked like Lumiere took over the whole store —Roc4Life

2006-07-16 13:29:56   Website doesn't refer to the Lumiere location anymore but a store to open in Henrietta this summer and in Hormel as well. —BrentIrvine

2010-08-11 14:10:26   Every time I've called this place to ask if something is in stock I get some young teenager who has no knowledge and a complete lack of communication skills. Why they would allow this is beyond me. You are much better off ordering off the internet. You'll pay better prices, probably get free shipping, no tax and you won't have to talk to an idiot. —PersonFace
