2006-09-15 05:05:37   The only place I can find Black&White Scotch! —KarenMask

2006-10-22 08:04:01   Awesome place —DanMcKeown

2006-10-23 07:01:05   The employees are always very helpful and knowledgeable. Perhaps the best part is they can be easily found throughout the store. —EllenKelsey

2007-01-26 10:20:31   Marketview has the lowest prices in town and I've never been disappointed with their "Great and Under $8" wines . I've compared prices on wines I regularly buy at Marketview with the prices at Century Liquor (closed now). Century's prices were significantly higher. I also compared prices at Premier the giant liquor store in Buffalo and found their prices to be higher than Marketview's as well. I agree with the above comments that Marketview has a good selection, especially with their new expansion. —RochCon

2007-01-31 12:57:02   Easily the best liquore store in Rochester. Their prices on wines are the lowest I have found, and their selection is the best. You can find an amazing selection of fantastic, highly rated wines (from Wine Advocate and Wine Specator) for under $10. The staff is, for the most part, very helpful and knowledgeble. There "Great Under $8" as mentioned before me is fantastic and, while I may not love every wine I've bought on that rack, most have been suprisingly good. I'd say if you are new to wine, its a good place to try a good variety without breaking the bank. I really can't say enough about them - I live in the city and its always worth the drive to Henrietta! —DoveDavie

2007-03-26 18:15:11   Only place in town you can get fiiiiiiine wiiiiiiiine for a soooooooooong. —KimBee

2007-03-26 18:41:30   The prices are good, the selection is great, no complaints here. —TravisOwens

2007-03-28 10:35:08   Everytime I have gone to Marketview I have been waited on by idiots. Their prices are on par with Century, but not worth the hassle. Century has a better selection, and both Century and bacchus run circles around Marketview when it comes to educated staff. It has been four years since my last bad experience. I will not go back again. —JackPorcello

2007-04-25 18:50:49   Massive store with a large selection.

In response to JackPorcello, what kind of responsible reviewer bases their opinions on a four year old experience?

If you haven't been there at least in the past year or so, do you really think you're speaking with any real authority? —ChrisMessenger

2007-05-13 18:30:28   Jack, apparently you don't know Jack about Marketview. I've been to all the places you mentioned; Century sucks, Baccus is pretty decent, but Marketview still rocks both of them. I've been very loyal to them for almost a year now, and if one of the emloyees doesn't have an answer for me (no one can know it all, especially you) they will go grab someone who can help me out. You really should give them another chance, with the new expansion there is never a shortage of new things to try, and prices are Great. —RocDrinka

2007-11-15 21:34:45   Apparently I have struck a nerve with some of you "Marketview groupies" here, but after repeated bad experiences I stand by my review. The last time I was there I asked about a special reserve product, and the clerk went to ask a "wine specialist" who, unknowingly within earshot of me, advised her that he was "too busy to deal with this" and told the clerk "oh, just tell him that's the reserve and they changed the label." So yes, Chris, I speak with authority and experience in this issue. They do not get another chance, RocDrinka. That kind of nonsense ends my patronage quickly and finally. Your experiences are different from mine, and that is all well and good, but I will call this as I see it. —JackPorcello

2007-11-16 15:22:43   I don't think I'm a "Marketview Groupie" but if you're looking for expert individual attention, you're probably looking in the wrong place. Marketview's niche is big selection with a low price. The employees are helpful but they don't have a lot of wine experts. —RottenChester

2007-11-26 15:27:14   I personally enjoy Marketview's large selection of wines and liquor. I never ask for help, so I can't comment on knowledge of staff, but I enjoy browsing in peace. Their prices are really great, and I stop by looking for a bargain whenever I'm out that way. —SaraChristine
