Former Caledonia-Mumford football star Matt Cappotelli first gained notice as a professional wrestler in 2003 on MTV's "Tough Enough" series. He was the Ohio Valley Wrestling champion on one of the minor pro circuits and was close to joining the national wrestling TV lineup in the summer of 2005 until he suffered a broken leg in a World Wrestling Entertainment house show match.
He revealed in February 2006 that he has been diagnosed with a malignant brain tumor.
Cappotelli attended Western Michigan after his career at Cal-Mum.
