2007-08-13 21:27:07 Nice addition Dave. I think this tag will be useful. I changed the phrasing because NPOV is not always black-and-white, so it may be tough to definitively say an article is biased. We have had a lot of discussions regarding how we, as a community, should define NPOV. We have generally agreed there is a little room for some non-controversial opinion and conventional wisdom alongside actual facts. —EastSideStephen
2007-08-13 21:31:01 BTW, I don't love my phrasing either. It's taken directly from Wikipedia's NPOV tag, but it sounds a bit awkward to me. Can "disputed" be an adjective? Do we have any grammar experts who can verify the correctness of the phrasing, or possibly fix it if it's wrong? —EastSideStephen
2007-08-13 21:57:36 I like this addition, too.
I think the right way to say it is "This article is the subject of a dispute" but that still doesn't sound too good.
How about "The community isn't sure this article is written from a Neutral Point of View. If you can improve it, click the "Edit" icon above." —RottenChester
2007-08-13 22:02:55 More accurate, but less succinct. I think we can do better. —EastSideStephen
2007-08-13 23:27:53 I'm glad to know that I wasn't the only one not quite happy with my wording. I fully agree with you Stephen, but it's HARD trying to make this succinct and flexible and accurate. It needs to make it clear that including text about the pretty/garish wallpaper is probably acceptable, but it's the sux0rs is not. Hmmm...

2007-08-13 23:52:46 I think that one's a little confusing. Keeping "neutral" or "NPOV" with a link in the description is probably a good idea —EastSideStephen
2007-08-14 00:02:45 You know what? If the wording is a little jarring, that's actually a good thing, because it forces the reader to pay attention. They'll read the rest of the article critically and hopefully figure out how to fix it. —DaveMahon
