2005-05-06 23:18:59 nice blog, and welcome to dry land comrade! —AnthonyRudgick
2005-05-20 10:02:34 Your mystery picture is obvious from your 'recent changes' log. Awsome picture though! —FarMcKon

You're right, I noticed the same situation with the epileptic gorilla when it was first posted. It probably shouldn't affect casual visitors to the site, but I'll keep that in mind with future contributions. —RobertPolyn
2005-05-22 12:23:39 Wow, the syntax to do a strikethrough is somewhat boneheaded not immediately obvious, but it works. Thanks! —RyanTucker

I agree. Any suggestions as to how we could improve it? This page has a nice brief discussion —RobertPolyn

A friend pointed me towards this page, which seems useful. The major thing I run into with Wikis is the lack of standards — it's kind of a necessary evil, but it makes it rough to switch between software mentally. I "grew up" on MediaWiki, so I practically need someone go to behind me and fix [[Double-Bracket Links]] here ;-) —RyanTucker
-
Rocwiki.org actually started as a MediaWiki project, but then switched over to the daviswiki/moinmoin codebase not long after, so I understand your frustration. The more I explore this setup though, the more I come to appreciate it. Have you ever seen ZWiki? If we were to make any other major changes in the future, I really like how their edit pages allow multiple markup formats. —RobertPolyn
-
Hrrm... I think I prefer this can of worms over that one. Accepting multiple markup formats would get pretty nutty, unless they get "converted" to a standard one before the next editor comes along. BTW, a few random questions before I forget: 1) How are templates created/modified here, and 2) Is there any way to refer to an image attached to another page, in order to avoid multiple-uploading images? —RyanTucker
-
I agree, but I think it reads well. How about a strike button in the edit button area? —PhilipNeustrom

I like that idea. — RobertPolyn
2005-05-30 16:14:50 Oh. I see. My "builds stuff and things" isn't good enough for you!!!! —FarMcKon

2005-06-21 15:10:45 Great work on the Liberty Pole article. The "tethered" sentence caused great amusement among my coworkers. —RyanTucker
2005-08-03 16:43:42 I put the brownie mix suggestion in months ago, figured it was time to remind folks to pop 'em out. Mine are quite yummy, although a little rubbery and somewhat crunchy. —RyanTucker

Best tip ever, hands down. —RobertPolyn
2005-08-07 14:14:35 Sorry for the wrong attribution on the D&C page. I read the comments in the wrong order. —JohnMoriello

2005-08-20 18:38:52 The indents are force of habit from my old days as a reporter. Our archaic front-end editing systems (CSI and then Atex) required manual indents at the start of each paragraph, a habit that 10 years of HTML work on DemocratandChronicle.com has not been able to overcome. —JohnMoriello
2005-08-22 19:41:09 Thanks for dropping my blog (Form/Content) into the Local Blogs pages. Glad you like it so much. :) —AdamBaratz
2005-08-22 20:21:49 You know Rob, I think you should try the new Svedish Salamander Salad at Dennies. You, more then anyone, would enjoy it's crispy carcinogenic creamyness. —NathanStark

2005-10-24 08:59:54 hey rob, could you use those "contacts" of yours to get me into the VIP areas of the wiki? —RossHattori
2005-11-03 10:34:03 so what does it mean when a person doesn't have a red font for their name? (like in the recent changes log) —RossHattori
2005-11-06 08:36:04 it means they have not yet created a personal page. —FarMcKon

Are you Lord Archaeus ? I've been looking for more information on your order and your grandfather. Any information you could share would be appreciated. —RobertPolyn
2005-12-13 23:05:20 Indeed. Are you the creator of this Wikki or just another of it's many contributors? —JoeBurkhart

I'm a cofounder. You can read a little more about the wiki's history here. If you're interested in contributing, check out this page. Feel free to disagree with what's already written, expand on it, edit it, and add your own opinion. It makes the site more interesting (and valuable, in my opinion). —RobertPolyn
