Rochester No Car Day is a proposed effort to get as many residents in the Greater Rochester Area to walk or bike instead of using their cars or public transport for the last Friday in May.
MISSION : To dedicate the last Friday in May to walking or biking instead of using motor vehicles.
PURPOSE : To slow down as a community for one day in order to celebrate our connection to nature.
2009 GOALS :1

To get as many residents in the Greater Rochester Area to walk or bike instead of using their cars or public transport for the last Friday in May (May 29th, 2009).

To carefully plan a full day so that using the car is not neccesary.

To consider what Rochester might look like with fewer cars.

To celebrate our connection to nature.

To celebrate as a community with a Critical Mass bike ride.

To encourage finding alternate ways to work.

To remind ourselves that we ARE alive.
