Rochester, NY serves as the seat of the The Roman Catholic Diocese of Rochester. Salvatore Ronald Matano has served as Bishop since 2014.
There is a notable showing of Roman Catholic Churches in the greater Rochester area, often the geographic centerpiece of large neighborhoods.
In addition to churches there are also some great Catholic ministries operating outside of a particular parish. One of the more notable ones is the St. Irenaeus Center (website) located on Blossom Road, popular with Zoomers and Millennials.

There are also local Protestant sects founded in the area which have broken away from the Roman Catholic Church, such as Spiritus Christi Church.
