Susan John represented the 131st Assembly District of the New York State Assembly, which included parts of the City of Rochester, as well as the towns and villages of Chili, Churchville, Mumford, Riga, Rush, Scottsville and Wheatland.
Controversy
While serving as a New York State Assemblywoman and chair of the Assembly's Alcohol and Drug Abuse committee, Susan John plead guilty to driving while alcohol-impaired. Susan, who sponsored a "zero tolerance" bill that would force teens who drive drunk to forfeit their driver's licenses, had the following to say on the issue: "This will give me additional insights into the problem of drinking and driving."
