Taste of Texas (aka Texas Bar-B-Q Joint) is a barbeque restaurants and caterer located in Spencerport. Catering service has been in business for several years, and the restaurant opened in February 2007. A second location opened in Park Point at RIT but closed a few years later.

2008-08-16 11:45:18   I discovered T.o.T. just after they opened and have been a loyal patron since. Richard makes the best BBQ in this part of New York. I can say without reservation that no matter what you order, you will love it. —ShadoeD

2008-11-12 16:59:50   Amazing food! Everything is delicious, the service is wonderful as well. I have dined here many times and also used their catering services as well. I would much rather go to Taste-of-Texas over Dinosaur BBQ or Famous Dave's any day hands down...and my family feels the same way. 2008-12-14 16:04:39   I just found out about this place recently and decided to make the drive out there for dinner one night. They offer up two soup choices for free (but I left a tip in the jug) and you can have as much as you can stomach. I don't know what the name of my soup was but it had rib meat, beans and was spicy. It was also supremely delicious. That was nothing compared to the Outlaw Potato, though. It's a giant baked potato filled with butter, bacon, sour cream, cheese and your choice of rib meat, chicken or beef (I think..). I had never heard of such a concoction prior to eating here but I'm so, so glad I know about it now. This is one of those places that I'll hit up regularly and inform my friends about. The drive is worth every drop of fuel used. —BatGuano

2009-04-10 21:34:35   Not bad for a BBQ place. Very reasonable. They have a free Soup bar while you wait for your entry. Counter-top service. We love the fried green tomatoes and the pulled pork. We like Dinosaur better, but if you want a quick, delicious BBQ meal, this is the place to go! —ChefRamsey

2009-05-28 13:32:08   Tried this place out on Sunday and absolutely loved it. Had the bbq beef sandwich and my partner had the pulled pork sandwich. The pulled pork sandwich was AMAZING! For sides we got the mac + cheese (delish), mac salad (I'm not a fan of mac salad in general, but my partner loved it), some potato thing (had potato, sour cream, and cheddar — SO GOOD), and sweet potato fries. I'd go here in a heartbeat. —MarcVera

2009-07-11 16:30:40   A real winner. The brisket is fabulous as is the rest of the meats. All of the sides we've had are great. It's a small place but usually isn't terribly busy unless there's a festival or other event in town. The staff is polite and accommodating. My family of 5 loves eating here. —JohnBrown

2010-04-30 17:38:10   Definitely a solid place for BBQ. The brisket and the sides were the major highlights compared to other rochester area places. I wouldn't particularly recommended the pulled pork, it was a bit soft and watering for my liking. Overall, a great place and great value. —SRudman

2012-08-10 19:58:04   Went tonight and it was very good. The food was ready before I finish the soup. Everything was delicious and I enjoyed it. The cowboy potato was just amazing. I will be going back for sure. —bonnev659
