TechNoir was an events coordinator that booked dance parties and live shows that catered to the Gothic Industrial scene as well as the rave scene.
They also booked events that include art shows and fashion shows that are involved with alternative clothing and dark arts of the scene.
TechNoir was currently based in Rochester, NY. They held monthly events in Buffalo, NY for over 2 years and began having dance parties in Rochester in November of 2009.
The music played at TechNoir dance events and shows covered Electro Body Music (EBM), FuturePop, Industrial, Electro, older Goth influenced bands, as well as other genres surrounding the darker sounds.
This was first and foremost a party. The common thread that ran through all of their guests is the desire to have a good time in an unusual and exciting atmosphere.
This was a progressive dance focused night. They delved into more diverse music for the dance floor. TechNoir was a combination of new and old, but always focused on the floor. They showcased a variety of music as they stressed offering a quality experience for all.
Photo cameras were welcome at TechNoir events, as were video cameras. Drugs of any kind were strictly prohibited at TechNoir, as were weapons, no matter how cool they looked. The safety of guests, staff and entertainers was of paramount importance.
What was suggested was that you wear to a TechNoir event? Well, they did not have a dress code as such, because they understood that interesting and exciting people come in many configurations, and not all of them happen to blessed with expensive wardrobes. That having been said, they do try to present a certain theme and level of panache at TechNoir, and accordingly, they encouraged certain styles of dress. After all, if you want to see people in jeans and T-shirts, you can go to any old bar or club. While you wouldn't be turned away in a t-shirt and jeans, by dressing down you would be missing out on part of the fun at TechNoir. It was a special occasion; make the most of it! It only takes a little effort to dress a bit differently. Of course, you can always put a lot of effort into it and make everyone else jealous! :P
