The Charter School of Science & Technology was one of Rochester's many charter schools that distinguished itself by focusing on science and technology. The school opened in September 2000, serving 876 students from kindergarten to eight grade.
The school promised to increase its enrollment to 1,276 students and expand to serve kindergarten through twelfth grade by 2005. When the five year review happened, and the school had not grown or expanded, it was closed by the State Education Department in 2005.1
