The Highlands at Pittsford, part of the University of Rochester Medical Center (abbreviated URMC), is where seniors can find a full spectrum of living options at 'The Highlands at Pittsford', which offers independent living in cottage and apartment homes, as well as assisted living apartments, in a wooded campus near the Village of Pittsford. The list of amenities includes a restaurant, fitness centers, valet car service, on-campus store, computer center, arts and cultural programming, as well as free UR courses right on campus.
Two skilled nursing facilities, 'The Highlands Living Center' and 'The Highlands at Brighton', offer short-term rehabilitation for orthopaedic, cardiac, and other medical conditions, as well as compassionate long term care.
