This page is a proposal to update Wiki Community/Etiquette.

I am reimagining this page to propose the updating of Wiki Community/Etiquette in light of recent events. Please remember that Wiki Community/Etiquette are not rules persay, but guidelines that are flexible under differing circumstances. They do provide a guideline as to how the Wiki should work.

PROFANITY

RocWiki was not designed to be a g-rated website, nor have contributors ever wanted it to be. We do expect people to be respectful of others though and be aware that minors do browse RocWiki. In that vein, while profanity is allowed, we ask that people not go over the top with it. The Admin Team does maintain the right to remove (or modify) comments that go over the top in terms of excessive profanity. If a concern arises it will be brought to the Wiki Community for discussion via the Google Group. The comment/profanity may be removed during discussion. Majority rules stand—if majority agrees the comment is a problem, the profane statement will be removed. If a comment is removed, the poster will be notified via their User page. If the majority agrees the comment is determined to be acceptable, it will stay/be put back.

RESPECT OF LOCAL BUSINESS/BUSINESS OWNERS

There is a fine line between a review and an attack on a Business or the Business Owner. Please remember that personal attacks will not be tolerated on RocWiki. Please consider that if you have a personal issue with a business owner it might be better resolved by taking it up with them personally. If it is a legal matter, it absolutely should not be on RocWiki and best addressed via legal representatives (ie attorneys). If a concern arises it will be brought to the Wiki Community for discussion via the Google Group. The comment may be removed during discussion. Majority rules stand—if majority agrees the comment is a problem, the comment will be removed. If a comment is removed, the poster will be notified via their User page. If the majority agrees the comment is determined to be acceptable, it will stay/be put back.
