2006-09-09 12:23:59   Interesting place. They sell artsy day planners, 'zines, clothing and bags, stuff like that. Nook kinda feels like someplace you'd wander into on Market St. in San Francisco. I think they could use more selection of books. The way the store is laid out, I'd feel proper lounging around the place to read for a while after a purchase. —CedrickStanton

2006-09-09 15:30:35   Ooo this place sounds really interesting! Urban Outfitters is my favorite store, so if this is truly "way cooler", I will be extremely happy :) —RachelBlumenthal

2006-09-13 09:16:54   Cute in slightly, grungy? (lighting, perhaps) setting. Offerings: very age-specific with a strong appeal to apt-dwellers. When we went the shopkeeper ignored us completely - the educated guess is that our 'corporate' attire placed us out of his expected demographics. —ChristineLeo

2006-09-13 11:15:36   I was there a few weeks ago, and found the owner's attitude refreshing. He answered questions but otherwise left us alone. There's nothing worse than over-solicitous retail salespeople, IMO. —RottenChester

2006-09-13 18:22:20   I found the owner to be quite friendly and helpful, and happy to discuss the various music labels he carried. Then again, I was in jeans and some weird t-shirt, so I am the target demographic. —DanielMiner

2006-09-14 07:50:40   I checked it out a week or so ago and it’s a cool place. They have a really nice selection of CD’s (bought one) and miscellaneous weird schtuff. Lots of baby/kid clothes/toys as well. The owner was very helpful and took lots of time to chat. Definitely a nice addition to Rochester and the growing South Wedge neighborhood. —ZedOmega

2006-09-16 17:14:09   I checked it out today and I really liked it. It's a small store with a really random selection of stuff, and some of it is a bit pricey, but there are definitely plenty of fun things on the lower end of the price scale too. There are lots of adorable cards and bags, and the selection of CDs is good (although it's mainly indie rock, so if you're looking for another genre, you may be out of luck). Like almost all the other reviewers, I found the owner to be extremely friendly and knowledgeable. —RachelBlumenthal

2006-09-18 14:10:51   As a Met Home subscriber/admirer of clean lines and vintagey decor/generally crafty gal, I enjoyed my first trip to :nook today! Marc was friendly and a pleasure to chat with. Awesome card selection! —AndreaLipomi

2006-10-02 11:36:11   There is a interview with the store's owner on Toxic Rochester, [WWW]here, about six minutes into the show. —JohnPassaniti

2006-11-08 13:19:29   I stopped in today after hearing good reviews. What fun stuff! And yes, definately different from other gift stores. I walked out with a very nice book for a friend, and saw a number of things I'd like for myself or to give as gifts. Marc was very nice and I enjoyed talking to him (and I was dressed in my "semi-corporate" attire and pearls, so I don't think that is an issue). Excited to see more things opening in the South Wedge! —DawnNicoleJohnson

2006-11-20 19:16:14   I have been to :nook several times and have found wonderful cards, presents, and I bought a Fat Boy, which my family is loving. Marc is very eager to get feedback and suggestions, and it's a pleasure doing business with him. —MarjorieSearl

2006-12-19 09:52:28   I've been there many times, and the owner (Marc) is always friendly and fun to talk to. Recently there have been more RIT students checking it out, but he's looking for the UR kids too! Sells all kinds of neat stuff, desinger vinyl toys and kids clothes. Got some awesome letterpress xmas cards. He's always got sales going on too, sign up for the newsletter to find out what's on sale that week. Wine tastings every month as well and some deals for those couple hours. Check it out. —AliSmith

2007-01-13 20:34:24   I just went here for the first time today! The owner was very friendly. I commented on a poster that was on the wall. It was not for sale, merely decoration, but I ended up going home with it. Very unique store with a very nice owner. :) —ChristineHochmuth

2007-03-27 13:35:26  I love this little store and the guy who owns it. Very nice place to browse around and he carries some good brands. —KimBee

2007-05-24 10:31:21   Small but quaint boutique of misc items, the shop is a nice addition to South Ave and helping this section of town boom as of 2006/7. —TravisOwens
