2010-12-04 08:01:24 I went here with my family last spring while it was still old outside. We walk in and there are approx 7 tables in a small dark room. the fireplace is lit, a mother/daughter dinner was taking place on the far side of the room and a romantic dinner for two was set up in front of the fireplace. The four of us were sat by the door. The menu was very nice, but the selection was extremely limited since they do not make large quantities. You eat what's on the menu and there are no substitutions. I have several food allergies and was hoping they could accommodate me. When I mentioned it to the waitress, she told us we should go somewhere else. We should have listened. While trying to read the menu in the overly dark room, we passed the table candle around to get enough light to read it. Since we stayed they did hobble together a kind of meal for me and it was tastie, but they staff as very put out by the thought that i couldn't eat what they had planned and made the stay extremely comfortable. I also am not sure what we ate since everything on our plate was a dark blob in the dim light. If you do not have food preferences, go. I'm sure you'll have a wonderfully romantic meal. If you are picky or can't eat certain things... maybe try calling in advance before you go - otherwise you'll have a good story for the books and one horrid meal-time! —KarenT
