See Gone, But Not Forgotten

Beyond Hardware was an independent hardware store that was part of the "member-owned hardware cooperative" ¹ under the True Value name. Beyond Hardware was located in the Wegmans Plaza - Penfield on the south side of Route 441 near Route 250.

The store was owned by two local friends, Matt Shapiro and Jim Marsh (see their website story for details).

You could plan your trip in advance by checking out Projects Pages and then their annotated floor plan to locate stuff.

Shoppers could register at the store for a a free True Value Rewards Card and accumulate points at any True Value store for future cash discounts.

Closed January 31, 2015.

2009-05-02 14:51:33   Corrections. The phone number for the store is 585-377-5540. And Beyond Hardware is part of the True Value co-op which is a member based organization of independent hardware retailers (not a franchise). It is locally owned and operated. —mshapiro

2009-06-20 00:08:45   Went to the store by good fortune after stopping at AAA across the street. I had no luck with a couple of items at either Lowe's or Home Depot. Here, I got the help and the parts I needed to complete an electrical hookup inside a cupboard. Great service, well organized store - will definitely go back. It is strange, but I think it occupies the space where the Chase-Pitkin hardware store used to be. Thanks to Jim for the help! —BradMandell
