Food is acceptable, but nothing to rave about.
Interior is nice and trendy like Benuccis.
Better food at other Italian restaurants in Rochester, probably the nicest interior of all Rochester Italian restaurants though. —MrRochester
2008-09-05 20:51:44 Went there with the wife on Labor Day. She had a Chicken Parm which was good, not the best I've had but nice flavors. I had the pasta with spinach, sun dried tomatoess and had scallops added to it. The flavor was outstanding although the scallops were underdone. Although they were very busy the service was good. We will definitely come back. The pasta I had was so good I have to come back. Atmosphere not as great as the other reviewer found it but the food absolutely deserves another visit. —wdrazek
2009-11-27 21:09:13 Nice atmosphere. Calamari appetizer was good. Had dinner with my wife. I had the Mahi Mahi special and she had the Pork. Risotto was nice. Both the meat and fish were dry. Ordered the pork medium rare and came out well done. Some lady came over, didn't bother to introduce herself, then proceeded to tell us they could cook the pork medium rare due to health codes. Yea right. On some bright sides, the server was excellent and prices were cheap. —GregF
2010-04-20 14:35:48 I have been to this restaurant twice. The first time, we were happy with our meals. The marinara sauce was one of the best I've ever tasted. Unfortunately, our second visit was nothing like the first. I tried the Bocaccini-tini thinking that the cocktail that bears their name would be the best. The alcohol was extremely poor quality and tasted like cough syrup. The minestrone soup tasted so strongly of balsamic vinegar it was inedible. When our extremely inattentive waitress walked by, she picked up the uneaten soup without even asking us if it was okay. The main course was pasta so watery it cheapened the taste of their delicious marinara sauce. After my first experience at Bocaccini's, I was excited to return. Now, I doubt I'd ever go again. —ChristineH
2010-05-17 09:17:11 I went with my wife the Saturday before Mother's Day: The place was packed, but they were able to squeeze us in without reservations.
The decor is trendy faux-industrial with exposed overhead pipes, etc. Nice and clean, but ear-crushingly loud. You're not going to have a quiet, romantic dinner here. There were also a lot of kids, though that could have been because of the holiday.
Service was excellent. Our waiter was prompt, efficient, very friendly, checked on us at appropriate intervals. No complaints at all.
The food was good - better than I expected, honestly. My wife and I both had veal dishes; She had a veal & shrimp combo, while I had a veal/feta/tomato/risotto special they were offering that evening. In both cases, the meals were cooked well and nicely presented.
Summary: I'll happily go back. —RichMulvey
