IMHO, the best bagels in town. Their Challah is the best

2007-02-28 10:55:39   They make a good sandwich. Whether you're Jewish or not, kosher cold cuts are a cut above. —EastSideStephen

2007-03-23 08:11:42   Love their bagels. The onion is superb. —KimBee

2007-03-25 07:39:17   Best bagels in Rochester. It amazes me that all of those crappy imposters a stone's throw away from Brownstein's get any business at all. —RochesterGuy

2007-03-26 18:12:11   Brownsteins sells its frozen dough to O'Bagelos. —KimBee

2007-03-27 19:42:16   well that explains why I like o'bagelo's —MrPhil

2007-03-27 22:12:38   Just had their bagels for the first time recently and I didn't care for them. —JoelCornell

2007-03-30 18:57:16   this place is great . . . I've had the bagels here and also an occasional pastrami sandwich. . . but, they are kosher, which means I always have to ask them to give me the cheese separately — I add it to my sandwich once I get to my car. —GrahamSaathoff

2007-09-27 14:11:37   Bialy's are the best I have had in town. They make a blueberry bagel that actually tastes like a blueberry bagel should. —MrPhil

2007-11-08 14:49:04   The best bagels in Rochester. I wish something could compare to H and H or Bagel Boss in the NYC metro, this is the closest thing. Request the potato Kugel or Knish. Always good. —MrRochester

2008-03-31 19:11:19   Hands down the best bagels in Rochester. —RocGuy14610

2009-01-08 11:48:04   No question, they have the best bagels I've tasted in Rochester. I've tried 6 other places, and none measure up. Also, the scallion cream cheese is superb —DavidPerlmutter

2010-06-28 04:58:54   I had some day old bagels from a local grocery store yesterday, wishing I had gone to brownsteins haha, my fondest memory of brownstiens is when my dad would bring home a big bag of day old bagels, first i'd eat them with cream cheese. then when we ran out of that (which in a household of 5 kids and two parents happens quickly) I'd eat them plain, and just take about 10 minutes enjoy the real taste of each bagel. thats the difference of brownstiens, you don't have to toast theses bagel, you don't have to add anything to them if you don't want to. these bagel are the best bagels in town period. —barnabasschickling

2012-03-29 15:49:37   My grandfather was the treasurer of the bagel bakers local in Brooklyn for several decades. I shop at Brownstein's. —JonGreenbaum
