Coffee Connection is a coffeehouse formally in the South Wedge operated in conjunction with Project Empower, a nonprofit organization. They roast their own beans in a machine located at the back of the store. All coffee is labeled fair trade. In addition to coffee, the store sells fair trade items imported directly from Peru, including sweaters and hand-made jewelry.

Coffee Connection was formerly known as the "Women's Coffee Connection" because it provides jobs for women looking to (re)enter the workforce.

They offer free wifi.

Other places that sell Coffee Connection brews are Equal Grounds and [WWW]Connections at UR's Rush Rhees Library.

A second location at the Marketplace Mall food court opened March 1, 2021. They also serve and cater at the UR Orthopedic Center located at the MarketPlace Mall.

2007-05-04 23:42:44   I hope I'm not the only one who's been here. I love their coffee and everyone who works there is so nice. Also, and this is IMPORTANT - Skippy makes sandwiches which you can buy, eat, and enjoy during lunch. —RochesterGuy

2007-08-13 20:33:54   Always good! I don't drink coffee, so I can't comment on that, but I love the atmosphere, the hot cocoa is great, and the staff is friendly. —MandieCaton

2008-05-03 16:06:50   I was here with 2 friends today and we didn't like it. The coffee was good but we did not like the staff. We went outside to sit at a table after getting coffee and when one person mentioned he didn't like the staff the rest of us then mentioned that we felt the same but didn't know if it was "just us" (individually). We all felt rushed and unwelcomed, we wished we had walked a few more steps down to Open Face. —ChillaxinRoc

2008-06-18 09:18:05   This is where I get my coffee beans. Good, locally roasted, and nearby. It's what keeps me awake. —Users/RyanTucker

2013-04-04 09:05:55   This might be the best coffee beans in the city. Lots of beautiful crema when I press their beans into a cup at home. —Craftykette

2015-04-01 21:33:23   Great coffee, friendly staff, free wifi. I got some coffee beans and a few of the staff were loudly commenting on the hassle of not having a scale at the front of the store - it was a little awkward. I support their mission and think they have a great product so I will be back. Note to management: put the scale in the front of the store so your team doesn't have to leave the floor when measuring beans. —smlusk
