2012-03-27 16:18:50 I thought it was Rocwiki policy that we didn't open up pages for businesses that had yet to open? —Alex-C
2012-03-27 22:45:43 Alex-we haven't discussed this at a meeting and I see nowhere where a decision was reached. Item has been added to the April meeting agenda. There's a comment on Damian's page supporting creation of the pages. So far, it's EileenF, myself and this other contributor versus yourself and DamianKumor. Generally majority wins so it'll be up to anyone else who pipes up to see what occurs. With the current votes we will continue creating the pages unless the tide turns. —PeteB
2012-03-28 13:13:23 Just to add my $.02's worth; I believe that allowing pages for yet-to-open locations leaves the door wide open for sockpuppetry and marketing. Since you can't 'review' a place that is yet to open, all that is left to post is conjecture, innuendo, and spam. FWIW, I've been in DQ's in locations in about 40 different states, and trust me, it's nothing special. Most DQ's are just a counter in the back of the local Speedway gas/convenience store. Their soft-serve is nothing special, especially compared to local chains like Abbot's (although it's probably cheaper). —Alex-C
2012-03-28 14:00:33 I've often wondered why we have pages for national chains as well. But in some cases I guess it allows us to highlight anything interesting about their local locations, such as the Little Caesars Dancer Guy. —EileenF
2012-03-28 15:30:55 You can turn your nose up at national chains, but as long as people are EATING at them, you have something valid to talk about. DQ (as well as the new Mighty Taco on Jefferson) are still construction sites. Unless you wish to comment on the exterior cladding, what is there to review until it opens? —Alex-C
