WORST EVER! - I feel bad about this, as I tried to make it go smoothly, but they were just determined to get the most money out of me. It started with my KLX650R. I had a first gen Baja Designs kit on it with a bad wiring job, so simply put, either the existing harness needed to have new wires soldered, or the harness could be replaced. The estimated that it was a quick fix and that the mechanic knew electrical systems very well. The whole reason I brought it to them was because I couldn't find a schematic and BD didn't provide them anymore. Once they got hold of the bike, they sat on it forever, just tinkering here and there. I constantly showed up to try to urge them along, and I never saw them work on the bike much, but somehow they kept saying they spent a few hours on it already for "research". We had originally agreed that the maximum it would cost would be $220. Throughout the process, they told me this was bad and that was bad, and had me order a new regulator/rectifier, etc. They placed it on without checking if it was tristate or dualstate, but just blindly cut everything up, only to tell me later after handing me back a hacked up reg/rec that i could not return, that it was the wrong one, and they will just use the existing one! What?!!! They said it was bad, but the bike ran fine on the old one. So now they tell me that the whole kit should be replaced and that I could just purchase a new $500 kit and they would put it on for about $200 more. Why? I already have a kit, but just needs the wires fixed. So they agreed that if I bought a new harness, he would put that one and that would be easy too. So I bought the harness, and they hooked it up. Why wasn't this done in the beginning? Now to get the brake lights working, they tell me I need this and that, so he orders the wrong parts, and then blames it on me and wants to charge me a restocking fee. He then proceeded to tell me that I gave him the go-a-head. Not to mention, this whole time, he sits behind his counter smoking a joint. (Show up almost anytime, and he will be high). I needed new tires, so I purchased the tires and heavy duty tubes separately from Dennis Kirk. They totally blew out my one heavy duty tube and said it was defective (yeah right), and then mounted the tires wrong! They said the bouncing while riding is because they were dirt tires! Total garbage! They were DOT approved Dunlop 606's and had the circle on the side for the lightest part that needed to go by the stem and lock, but they mounted them totally wrong! Then they hit me with the bill...remember, I purchased all my parts separately. Total...$714+ in labor! I asked for an explanation and they said it was for all the research, hassle, and the amount work. They were total jerks to me, and this whole time I tried to be the nice and naive guy. I contacted the BBB, and nothing was done. All they do is send a letter to them that they can dispute. They are simply a middleman for no reason. Either way, he said that if I canceled the charge on my credit card, that he would sue me. (that is where he got his money to start his business btw...from suing someone). It was a totally terrible experience. Unfortunately the mechanic that did work on my bike seemed like a nice guy that I could get along well with. I am really disappointed it took this kind of turn from the owner. I will never go back, and urge everyone to run the other way. —raredesign
