See Google Maps Reference Link in footnote. Lyell Road was part of Lyell Avenue until a roadway realignment changed the intersection between Lyell Avenue, Spencerport Road, and Howard Road. After the realignment, Lyell Avenue connects directly as Route 31 heading west to Spencerport Road. See illustration at right1.
Howard Road intersects at a traffic light with Route 31 at the new alignment. It intersects with Lyell Road south of the aforementioned intersection. Traveling east on Lyell Road, one must turn right to go south on Howard Road. To get to Lyell Road traveling west on Lyell Avenue, use the left turn lane, make the left onto Howard and immediately turn right onto Lyell Road.
