2007-01-06 22:01:53 according to the Upper Monroe neighborhood association, Upper monroe is the area between 490 and Culver. I agree with the author in thinking that the area between 490 and downtown is culturally significant, but I think the section about it needs to be renamed. DOes this area have a name? —EastSideStephen

2007-03-15 00:08:57 I disagree that the 2 porn shops represent the "character" of monroe ave. They are just part of the overal eclecticism of the avenue. I will rewrite the section that talks about that and the grittiness of the avenue, unless anyone objects. —BenMargolis

2011-08-13 22:59:41 The lists of businesses and establishments on Monroe Ave need to be expanded more. Problem is, I don't always know whether something is in Upper Monroe or not, and I'm guessing we're not including those or else the lists would be way too long. —EileenF
